The Network is a strategic collaboration of multi- professional clinicians, managers and commissioners.
Hear directly from Network members about why people get involved and what collaboration delivers for patients and for staff across North West London.
What do we do?
The Network’s great asset is in pulling together and drawing on the clinical and managerial strength of all the professionals in critical care in North West London, at minimal cost, and enabling prospective joint working with commissioners.
The overall aims of North West London Critical Care Networkare to improve patient care and improve outcomes by:
Creating and maintaining close collaboration within and between provider organisations and commissioning bodies, on a Cluster scale that is large enough to have strategic impact but small enough to ensure comprehensive local engagement;
Driving up standards and continually raising the quality of care for patients whose conditions are life threatening and require comprehensive care and constant monitoring; Helping to avoid many in-hospital deaths in and prevent non-fatal complications and reduce length of hospital stay in high-risk groups;
Developing more efficient services - there is evidence that lack of, or poorly delivered critical care can significantly impact on hospital costs and length of stay;
Helping to ensure the network remains on a sustainable basis to continue delivering economy of scale and effort within North West London.
The Network is predominantly performing the role of an operational delivery network but also undertakes some strategic functions.
